About the Camps
Cheyenne Fencing Summer Camps
are designed to provide introductory fencing instruction, taking into account the performance
levels of each individual camper. The typical daily schedule includes two
fencing practice sessions combined with other fun games and activies including
swimming, running, shooting and riding. Camp competitions are scheduled for the last camp day. An excellent
student/instructor ratio is maintained to provide individual coaching attention
for each student;
Cheyenne Modern Pentathlon Summer Camps are designed to learn from the best everything possible about modern pentathlon - get experiences with different and new partners, taking into account the performance levels of each individual camper. The typical daily schedule includes three/four practice sessions. The camp program includes: 1) group lessons and drills to enhance fencing skills, group and individual shooting practices, group run and swim to introduce or to enforce tactical concepts, strategies and strength, and to broaden pentathlon knowledge and appreciation of the sport; 2) supervised practices, with a variety of partners to gain new and varied competitive experiences; 3) a variety of games to enhance physical skills. An excellent student/instructor ratio is maintained to provide individual coaching attention for each student;

PAST CAMP INFO
HOLIDAY CAMP AT THE CHEYENNE FENCING AND PENTATHLON CLUB IN DENVER, COLORADO.
HOLIDAY PENTATHLON COMPETITION RESULTS
Twenty-five athletes from all parts of the US participated in the nine day camp in Denver. Athletes were coached by a great coaching staff, led by, Janusz Peciak, Head US Pentathlon Coach and Olympic Gold Medalist. He was assisted by Mel North, fencing specialist, Maciej Czyzowicz, Olympic Team Gold Medalist, Carmelo Felix, Olympian from Mexico and Cindy West, riding specialist. The athletes received one on one coaching instruction in all events thru out the camp.
The participants received training in each of the five Modern Pentathlon disciplines; shooting, fencing, swimming, horseback riding and running. The shooting and fencing portions were held at the Cheyenne Fencing Society and Modern Pentathlon Center in Denver, Colorado. Running was done at local parks as well as the Colorado Athletic Club in Denver. The Colorado Athletic Club also was the scene for some of the swimming. More swimming was done at the City of Aurora's Utah park pool.
